Precious Treasures Child Care (PTC) began through loving interstate phone
conversations between Kay Woods and her mother. Kay resided in Northern
California, and her mother in Arizona would frequently mention the need
for 24/7 child care for the safety and welfare of children and families
who needed support.
At the time, Kay was working a corporate position at the Regents of the University
of San Francisco (UCSF), earning a good, respectable living. Eventually Kay
couldn’t ignore the compassion she and her mother shared for the wellbeing
of children, and she decided to open the childcare center her mother
dreamed of.
Kay started PTC in 2002, and to her great pleasure and surprise, it grew more
quickly than expected so Kay resigned from the University, returned to Arizona,
and has continued to pour her heart and soul into her now thriving business.
Kay truly believes our children are the Treasures of the Future. Kay also observed
and addressed the needs of the families who entrusted their children to PTC.
She developed PTC to provide 24/7 child care and to also serve as a parent
resource center.
“Our 24/7 approach to child care not only facilitates parents work schedules
and family emergencies but also allows them an opportunity for quality adult
‘free’ time,” Kay says. “With the help of my dedicated and qualified staff, we
are in our seventh year and our center serves today’s busy families by providing
children with a safe, clean, nurturing, and caring environment.”
The ability to contribute to the betterment of children and the future has
brought a sense of fulfillment to Kay that is mitigated only by her desire to
expand, so that more families can benefit from the care and peace of
mind PTC provides.
